We, the PURPLE.

Farmer*sWife is up at 3:30 a.m.  Farmer*sWife has been up since 3:00 a.m.  She decided to roll over in bed, prompting DH to roll over in bed.  Which was just enough stimulation for him to kick in the "snore factor."
Farmer*sWife made the rounds but the kids were tussled in their beds and it would be quite a feat for FW to adapt herself to slumber there.  So, she headed for the couch.  But, ya' know what? Bink!  Her mind woke up.  Crapdiddly.
Yep.  I laid on the couch and as I prompted myself to fall into a semiconscious state of sleep, my mind threw some ideas and thoughts out at me.  Stuff about tomorrow, upcoming projects, and some ideas to write an article about keeping our children safe (from child predators).  I know?  Where does that come from at three o'clock in the morning?
Oh, I remember.  Often?  When I check on my children in the middle of the night?  I check that their windows are locked as well.  Did you know that a percentage of children abducted during the night from their home is typically due to premeditated foul play?  ie:  A maintenance person enters your home to repair something and secretly unlocks a window to snatch your precious loved one while you are all slumbering.  Frightening, I know.  But, true.  [I'll have to look up that percentage thingie.]
So, once all that went through my mind I went and pulled out a flashlight and my notepad (dedicated to articles and stuff I want to write about) and made a few notes of what my mind was throwing out there.
Then, I thought it would be nice to be informed about who won the election and who are future President is going to be.  Being that I like bein' in the know.  So, I read the article on Yahoo.  [Last night, DH and I were watching Fox and C-Span or whatever channel he was clicking back and forth to compare.  But, my eyes apparently gave in and I fell asleep.]
So, the country has made history.  Not the every four year history.  But, "first ever in an election" history.  I pray Obama takes us on a path to improvement of so many things.  Though, it's not so much about the "man" in the office.  As, it is about the Government working together for the nation and not for it's own embodiment.
And, I'm glad it's over.  Because I'm tired of Red and Blue and division of opinion.
We are PURPLE once again.  We are again, all Americans.  Red and Blue may now amalgamate to a color of unity.  It's not about black and white.  It's about Purple.  And, I like purple.
So, We the PURPLE....
Happy Wednesday!  May the sun shine for you a rainbow of Purple.

FW, that is Brilliant!

I like being purple. I've tried to raise my children in an environment that sees past color. Color is nice --it's colorful!!-- but color does not 'make' the person. It's what's inside that counts.

HOORAY for PURPLE!!

Leave it to FW to come up with Purple, hehe. I am glad it is done with as well. Now we can go back to 'normal'. I check on my kids all night too. This is the 'open window' season in my home. So someone could easily pop off the screen and swipe one of mine. I don't sleep well because I hear things all night long and worry. I am glad I am not the only one...Happy Hump Day.

This was a really exciting election. It would have made history no matter who one. On one hand, we had the first black president. On the other we had the oldest president with the first ever female VP. But as exciting as it was, I'm glad it's over too. There was too much fighting over it and I was sick of all the divisions. Yay to being purple. ;)

Well said, hopefully this country will stay purple!

Have you ever considered an alarm system for the house. Ours us like Ft. Knox, every window, door and even sensors under the carpets. Gives me great peace of mind at night.
