It Doesn't Get Any Better Than That!

2009 has arrived. Yesterday, the first day of the New Year, was one of the best New Year's days I think I've enjoyed in years. It doesn't get any better than that! We didn't do much. Well, important stuff anyhow. My Baby Brother was still here with us. Hmmm, I guess I should start referring to him as the teenager, LOL! He's going on 14 this month! So the Teenager and I and the youngins played frisbee, basket ball, road scooters, road bicycles, and pretty much had a great hunky-dory day! The weather was fabtastically beautiful! Mom came out to visit awhile and pick up the Teenager. We made baked potato fries and grilled homemade burgers. It was quite delightful.  Oh, and don't forget the black-eyed-peas! I was at peace all day. I wore a smile on my face. The kids squabbling was at an all time low for the year (first day, anyhow! LOL!) So, I foresee great things in 2009! It doesn't get any better than that!
I've already got two assignments lined up with Lis for February's issue of Root & Sprout.  One I signed up for under "The Inside Scoop" and one I pitched to her!  It doesn't get any better than that!
If you think it, if you believe it, you will bring it to yourself. This is true. It's one of my Mantras and I fully believe it to be true. Along with, The Lord is unable to bless you with more, until you appreciate all that you have. This too, is true. True to me. Tomorrow is Farmer, Jrs' 7th birthday. Seven years old! He's been with me/us for almost 8 years now, that means. WOW! Usually, y'all know I'm all big into the birthday parties. I typically let the children choose their theme and then I bring it true to life at the house. Though, this year he wanted a bowling party. Which I must say? I was not disappointed about. Seein' as how his birthday is immediately after the holidays. And, his birthday actually falls on the first Saturday of the year. The bowling alley does everything including provide cute invitations and goodie bags, as well as Thank You cards! Whoop! It doesn't get any easier than that! ;-) So, that leaves me with making the bowling cake and picking up some goodie bag items. (Typically, I would already have all this done. But, typically, I've been a control freak who doesn't enjoy herself as much as I have the past few weeks!) I'm off to pick up the few things we need. And, get some pictures printed while I'm at it. Preparing for the "Grind." The "Grind" starts Sunday afternoon. No more sleeping in late. No more floundering through my way and making myself up mid-morning. Nope. Grind-Grind-Grind until Spring Break. But, prior to the "Grind" we get one more big Whoop! Tech Guy and Bex are coming in this weekend with their youngins. There youngins are the same as ours 16-18 months apart at about two years behind us. The kids play great. The adults play Great! It doesn't get any better than that! Well, I guess it COULD GET BETTER. If you clicked the Something BIG link above this post and enter to try and win that cute Yellow Piggy Bank! Send your friends over there too! Anyone can enter and anyone can play along! It just doesn't get any better than that! Happy FWFD Friday!

Wow! You didn't tell me it was the cute yellow piggy bank! Woot!!!

Glad you had such a great day yesterday. We were having fun with visiting family, too. Now they've left and I'm trying to get my kids off the 1am bedtime (there's been 11 of us here, last night we gave in to Guitar Hero mania) My 16yo is just now eating his first of the day, at 1pm. What a lazy bum!

The "Grind" can be good. It keeps us on schedule and on our toes. Just a thought.
Happy FWFD to you, too!
(And happy birthday to Farmer, Jr., tomorrow! Bowling parties are awesome.)

The Rembrandt kit comes with trays (you stick them in hot water then mold to you teeh) so I think are easier than the whitening strips!!

I'm glad that you seem to be feeling more relaxed and laid back lately. And enjoying life more. You've always come across to me as the kind of person who truly enjoys life, but now it's like you're not only enjoying it, you're RELISHING it. Without worrying. And that is a gift. Keep it up! Happy New Year!
