31 Days to BBB; The Be Happy Way!

I've started this challenge (I mentioned in a previous post) at ProBlogger: 31 Days to Building a Better Blog. Today's task/assignment is to write a list post. Seriously? A list post? Why, I love lists! I live my life according to the list! I'm am ALLLLLL about the list!
Thinking back on yesterday how I thought it started out a little on the blah side but then I pumped myself up and laughed it all away made me realize that I need to share how to do this. Everyone needs to build upon that talent within themselves to uplift their spirits. Who wouldn't want to know how to add a little pep and a little happy into their day, right?
So, I'm going to hit two birds with one stone. I'll accomplish my BBB task and list some things for you to do -- regardless of what you think about it -- with a guarantee that I bet you'll at least crack a smile. ;-)  You trust me, right?
  1. Find a mirror.  Look at yourself in it and say to yourself, "You ROCK!" (Just go with me on this, kay?)
  2. Compliment someone today -- it'll make them smile and I bet you'll smile too.  It feels good.  If they say something negative to the compliment be sure to remind them to "take a compliment."
  3. Dress for Success -- this is true.  If you are a stay at home Mom or you are a member of the collective masses who work at home, dress for the day.  If you are frumpy and disheveled you will feel less motivated.  Ladies, if you don't typically where make-up slap a little mascara or lip gloss on.  Just because. ;-)
  4. Walk by someone in the office and make a super silly face.  Sounds idiotic, true.  But, everyone will get a laugh or a smile or maybe a funny look but still.
  5. If you find something humorous, even slightly, try to laugh out loud about it.  It's good for your body, circulation, and releases some happy chemicals in your brain.
  6. Indulge yourself -- every once in awhile we have to give ourselves a little treat.  So, if you've been dieting?  Give yourself a little something delectable.  If you've been super saving -- splurge on a little something, make-up, aftershave, new socks.  It doesn't have to be big it just has to be something.
  7. Do a Happy Dance!  How come as children it was so fun to dance silly but as adults we find it childish and don't do it anymore.  Ya' gotta' let go of the serious side now and then.
  8. Revel in the little things (that aren't always so little).  Bills? Anger? Economy? Can you see to read this post?  Sight is something we tend to take for granted; be thankful for it.  The ability to be mobile, the ability to speak words, the ability to hear, the ability think....you get the idea.
  9. Zoom Out -- life is overwhelming today with work, chores, bills, events, deadlines, so zoom out from today.  Picture next week and where you will be and the issues of day will be seven days behind you.  I taught myself this in high school about three weeks before I graduated.  With finals, and research papers and every thing that overwhelmed me I finally thought to myself   "In three weeks this will all be over somehow and these things will all have been done and tended to somehow and I'll graduate."
  10. Be thankful, Truly.
So, it's Tuesday.  Be silly.  Have fun.  Sometimes you have to do like I do and take the bad and tuck it away in a drawer for a while so you can give your brain a break.  Focus on one thing at a time and twiddle it down to a reasonable size.
So wadda' ya' think?  You up for it?  It may take a little time, but do these things and do them often.  It can't hurt and just might make you smile.
Happy Totally Tuesday!

Excellent list.

I used to work with a guy who would give himself a pep talk in the mirror each morning. He would end it with "ARE YOU FIRED UP?"

One day he screamed that and the person in the apartment behind him yelled "HELL YEAH I'M FIRED UP!" hahaha

Have to agree with Jay on the list. As far as dressing for success I am dressed for the day at 8am verses 4pm. Gosh you list helped me today! LOL.

I do the happy dance everyday and my children get so embarrassed but I know they like!

Boy, your dress for the day comment really rang in my mind. That has gone *so* by the wayside ever since I work out of the home office more. (Crawl outta bed, have a cup of coffee and commence work <--- my standard routine). But I do remember my Mom getting up at 5:30 and getting totally dressed and made up before we came down to breakfast. She just told me the other week, "If I didn't do it that way, with 5 kids, I wouldn't have been dressed till 4 p.m." Of course, I wanna wash the front porch down today and do a little yard work, so I will wait till after that. :-)

I try and look on the bright side as much as possible and I don't mind making people smile or laugh, I'm all about that! I have to admit, I'm one of those that live in jammies and I never wear makeup, hate the feel of it, always have.

Right now I am trying to be ambitious enough to take Freddie to the little lake in the next town and go for a walk but I am so darn addicted to the computer and internet I can't get my butt in gear and do much of anything productive around the house today or walk poor Freddie. {sigh!}

How come you didn't include "have a beer" on the list?
