Welcome to the Creative Writing Challenge Game.
This challenge is designed to stimulate our creativity and hone our writing skills. Whether you are a published author, a novice writer of someone who just wants to play along - we welcome you all!
How it works:
I spin and fan the dictionary with my eyes closed to select five random words. I did experiment with a random word generator on line but I found that the words it came up with were quite plain. So I select the words the old fashioned way.
I select five words, and then a theme. These five words and the theme are to be incorporated into some form of creative writing. It can be a short story, a poem, a song or maybe a very concise sentence. It is up to each participant to decide how they want to 'play' the game.
For added fun and an extra challenge, sometimes I will also include a random picture. This is optional.
At the end of the month, everyone who is participating posts their piece on their blog. This challenge is now being hosted by Melissa Garrett, Someday When I'm Famous. Challenges are due at the first of each month. Once your's is posted simply visit this link to find Lis's challenge and the link tool to add yours. It is that easy!
After posting your entry, click through the other links to read what everyone else wrote and how they interpreted the same five words and theme. We all like to be read. ;-)
This is a fun exercise designed to build our skills and express our creative side.
