Blue Jean Crafts

"My Old Blue Jeans..." Sounds like the title to a country western song, huh? Better yet, "Worn Out Wranglers." Hey? Maybe I should write one and send it in and Faith or Reba or.... Squeeeeee! Taylor Swift could pick it up and sing it, earning me some braggin' rights along with a couple hundred dollars for my piece of poetic denim... It could happen... So, I took an old, knee-less pair of Farmer, Jr.'s wranglers (those buddies are expensive so better get double wear and double use out of'em) and crafted and embellished some stuff. Pretty crafty denim wear, if I must say so myself. I used some of the jeans to patch the knees to make tube pillows. And, then I used the pant-part to make another pillow; cute, huh? Below is the trash can I got for the playroom at half off at the Hobby store. I paid $3.50 for it. Stained it with some leftover stain that matches the playroom. Then, using spray adhesive, I glued denim strips across the top of the trash can. And, a last minute thought, I cut out the flower appliques to add a little extra decor. The trash can project probably took me a max of ten minutes all together to finish. :-D Not a bad deal... I also stripped the seam from the side of the pant legs to use as tie-backs for the curtains WonderMom made for the playroom. The tattered look of the seam tie backs fits in nicely with the barn style decor of the playroom. So, all that cost me a mere $3.50 and a pair of old Wranglers. That's some thrifty craftin! :-D Happy Labor-Free Day!

I'm IMPRESSED!! I wish I could say I was inspired, but I'm too overwhelmed by school supplies and a messy craft room.

Today I took some more denim remnants and cut them into thin strips. Combined with ribbon, I hot glued them to two hair clips for clip in bows for Lil'Gal!

Adorable! And, it took me two minutes, max!
