Criminy! He is the hardest person to buy for because he generally "already has it," "can get it through the farm," or, can buy it himself. Sometimes I feel like I just save him a trip to the harware store or Academy.
SUGGESTIONS? I need suggestions for something not too pricey that I can get/make/handle in the next two days! I thought about a surprise party -- but, then I realized his birthday is Thursday, not Friday. So, less work for me I guess.
He really enjoys a good chocolate sheet cake which is what Lil'Gal and I made for him last year. He admitted he'd like another one. Other than that? I got nada. Maybe a real good ribeye from the meat market (the kind that costs $11.00 per pound, yummy)!
For our anniversary I made him a "coupon" card that made a full body massage available. Um, honestly? I think he's barely gotten that one in bits and pieces. Shame on me....
So, please help! Ideas! I'll shop for it! I'll make it! I'll shake it!! Oops, wait. Not that one, LOL!!!
Tips about DH:
He's a handy man and can build things.
He likes to relax.
He isn't too techie, though he might enjoy a GPS should he have a real need/use for one -- one day.
He's tall.
Happy Tuesday and please send me birthday assistance ASAP. DH deserves it!!!

How about more coupons although this year make 'em naughty!!! LOL
My 14th anniversary is tomorrow and all I've gotten my dh is a crappy Dollar Tree card. I suck, right? :P
A homemade card with homemade poem / sentiments?
Except for the tall, and the farmer part, he sounds like my dh.
I've got an idea I can't post on your blog, but if you want to know, e-mail me or message me! It's been VERY well received in the past at my house. ;)
And no, Gary, I will NOT tell you!!
You know, my Dad is the same way -- has everything or can buy it. I would do what I do for him on Father's Day, which is along your rib eye idea. I get the best steak I can find on sale (rib eye, T-bone or Porterhouse), marinate in one of those Lawry marinades (mesquite is really good) ... and check Couponmom for a coupon. I add in a big twice-baked potato (which I premake ... I'll probably post the recipe today, if you like), and serve all with steamed broccoli with juillened red bell pepper strips. It's a beautiful dinner, and I know he will feel special because it's a special dinner. Also, you can make it all ahead of time!
To top off the special dinner and desert you should have a night cap ready which would require a trip to the liquor store and Victoria's Secret. That is ALWAYS well received. You might need to send the kids to the grandparents for the night ;)
Well..., Knight took my idea, but, Besides the trip to V.S., you should leave the bambinos with the Godparents for the night. Although, with our schedules, we need to talk! Yeah, I know he would like having you to himself! :) XXX000
PSS: MISSED YOU!
I tried to e-mail you. Check and see if I had the right address!
Umm let's see, I think our friend Knight may have it there.....
if it was me? The wife has a list of my favorite whiskies.
Also, if it was me? One or two good guy movies, like Caddyshack or Ghostbusters.
Or music, if it was me? Led Zeppelin's greatest hits!
Of course, he is not me....
Thanks y'all!!! Please keep the advice and ideas coming. I think I'll make a compilation of all of them!!!
A new bowling ball? Maybe a New York Yankees jersey? Maybe a NY Jets collectible football? Metallica in concert dvd????
Those would make any guy, esp. ME, happy!
Well gary? I'll be sure to keep this list for your Mrs. next time you have a gift event coming around! LOL!!!
NY Jets? Um, I'll try Texas A&M Aggies! Thanks for the idea!!!!
I still remember when you shipped that plate/bowl I ordered. DH's emphatic statement, "New York City?! What are you getting from New York!??" LOL!
jesdez! My BFF! You need to write a blog post so I can start reading you and comment at your place!!!
